2022 New York Paid Family Leave (PFL) Rate and Benefit Amounts

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) set the NY PFL rate and benefit amounts for 2022 as follows:
  • The maximum contribution rate for PFL will be 0.511% of the employee’s gross annualized wages capped at the New York State Average Weekly Wage (NYSAWW) of $1,594.57 per week for 2022. 
  • This means the 2022 maximum annual contribution per employee for PFL is $423.71.
  • Employees taking Paid Family Leave receive 67% of their average weekly wage, up to a cap of 67% of the current Statewide Average Weekly Wage (SAWW).
  • This means the 2022 maximum weekly benefit is $1,068.36 ($96.75 more than the maximum weekly benefit for 2021).
