CAA 204 — Action Required for All Cigna Groups by March 1st for the June 1, 2024 Submission
In compliance with the Consolidated Appropriations Act, Title II, Section 204, Cigna will produce medical and/or pharmacy spending reports annually for both fully insured and self-funded (ASO) clients, and submit to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Labor, the Department of the Treasury (Tri-Agencies) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
For the June 1, 2024 submission, which will represent reporting year 2023, Cigna’s standard approach is to submit on their clients’ behalf.
This communication outlines steps for clients to take to provide Cigna with information required for the 2024 reporting submission. This includes employer versus employee premium split, that is, the average employee versus employer percent of premium across the client’s medical, pharmacy, behavioral coverage (including Cigna and any non-Cigna coverage), corresponding to the population with Cigna coverage.
