OMNIA Silver with BlueCard® Plan Changes Effective July 1, 2021
Effective July 1, 2021, for new and renewing business, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) is adjusting the plan design for the OMNIA Silver with BlueCard plan. We are making changes to comply with laws governing prescription coverage deductibles — New Jersey law requires a maximum prescription deductible of $250 — and to comply with the actuarial value rules.
The previous plan design reflected a prescription deductible greater than $250. We have adjusted the prescription deductible to reflect the maximum allowed of $250. To ensure this OMNIA Silver plan continues to comply with the federal actuarial value rating rules, the medical deductible has been adjusted from $1,750/$3,500 (person/family) to $1,900/$3,800 (person/family).
What to expect
- New business effective July 1, 2021, will be enrolled in the adjusted plan design.
- Small employer groups currently enrolled in the plan that renew on July 1, 2021 and later, will renew into the adjusted plan design upon renewal.
- Small employer groups that renewed into the plan prior to July 1, 2021, will renew into the adjusted plan design upon renewal in 2022.
- Affected groups will receive a contract/booklet amendment and updated Summary of Benefits and Coverage to distribute to covered employees.
