Oxford Special Enrollment Update

Oxford has just provided additional clarity to their earlier announcement regarding the COVID-19 Enrollment Opportunity as follows:
To assist their members in accessing care in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, UnitedHealthcare is offering fully insured customers across all lines of business a Special COVID-19 Enrollment Opportunity. The enrollment opportunity will extend from March 23, 2020 to April 6, 2020, and coverage will be effective as of April 1, 2020, should the member enroll. Customers are not required to adopt the Special COVID-19 Enrollment Opportunity, as we realize each situation is unique and while we are offering the option, we are asking each customer to make their own determination.
- This enrollment opportunity is intended to provide employees and dependents who previously waived coverage at the time they were first eligible or those who were still within their waiting period, the opportunity to enroll in benefits.
- Dependents, such as spouses and children, can be added to an existing account as long as they are enrolled in the same coverage or benefit option as the employee.
- Request for enrollment must be received no later than April 6th (enrollment forms must be received by this date to allow processing), there will be no exception made to this deadline.
In addition they have provided an FAQ document that will provide additional clarity on this topic as well as an amendment to the Certificate of Coverage (CoC) document to allow for the additional enrollments.
